Music and More in Polish Poster Art of Leszek Żebrowski

Our collaboration with two Austin art institutions brought the incredible poster art of Leszek Zebrowski to Austin.

Between October 21 and November 6, 2022, we partnered with the A05 Gallery to host Music in Polish Poster Art displaying over 30 beautiful posters designed by one of Poland’s leading poster artists most widely known around the world for his portraits. His connection to Austin includes designs commissioned by the Austin Polish Film Festival and by the film section of the SXSW. Before his retirement in 2022, for many years, Żebrowski served as full professor at the Academy of Applied Arts and, beloved by his students, taught and chaired the Poster Art Studio in the Academy of Fine Arts in Szczecin, Poland. Żebrowski created over 500 posters. Most of them are devoted to cultural events and phenomena; some carry social or political commentary.

Starting in October 2022 and extending throughout 2023, our collaboration with the Austin Classical Guitar brought two installations of Zebrowski’s art displayed at their beautiful concert venue, The Rosette: one on the film theme to match the ACG series of live music accompaniment to silent film, and the other on the music theme to accompany the ACG residency and a concert series by an incredible Polish classical guitarist, Marek Pasieczny.
