GREEN BORDER – film by Agnieszka Holland in Austin

We are proud to share the recording made during the co-presentation with the Austin Film Society of Agnieszka Holland ‘s latest and incredibly important film GREEN BORDER.

Q&A with Agnieszka Holland at the AFS Cinema, January 15, 2024

Thank you Austin Film Society for collaborating with us. Please view this interesting and informative conversation with the acclaimed Polish film director Agnieszka Holland so engagingly and expertly conducted by Holly Herrick, Head of Film and Creative Media at AFS.

Big thank you to Erica McCarthy of Nowhere Productions for the recording and to Hiland Chamblee for editing.

The film depicts a migration crisis that erupted in late 2021 at Europe’s gateway: the forested border between Poland, which is a member of the European Union, and Belarus, a dictatorship, which is not. It is the story of those entangled in the crisis: border guards, activists, and migrants, including a Syrian family trying to reach a relative in Sweden, and an Afghan woman looking to settle in Poland.
